Yum! Crust is thin and so awesome! Sweet thick sauce too!
Overview
Walking down Main Street in Portage, Pennsylvania, it’s hard to miss the warm and welcoming vibe of Dominic's Family Pizza. This spot at 401 Main St has become more than just a pizza shop—it feels like a community hub where locals gather for casual dinners, quick bites, or even a relaxed weekend evening with friends. From the moment you step inside, the aroma of fresh dough baking in the oven instantly sets the tone for what’s about to be a satisfying meal.
What makes this place stand out is the balance between tradition and comfort. Their menu isn’t limited to just pizza, though the hand-tossed pies with crisp crusts and perfectly melted cheese are the highlight. You’ll also find pasta dishes, subs, and appetizers that add variety to the dining experience. Families often mention how generous the portions are, making it easy to share without breaking the bank. It’s the kind of place where ordering a large pizza means everyone at the table leaves full and happy, which is exactly what you want from a family-style diner.
One interesting thing I’ve noticed is how often visitors mention the consistency here. Reviews highlight that the pizza tastes the same on a busy Friday night as it does on a quiet Tuesday afternoon. That kind of reliability is something not every small-town restaurant manages to achieve. According to data from the National Restaurant Association, consistency is one of the top three factors customers consider when deciding where to eat, and Dominic’s seems to have mastered it.
Location also plays a role. Being right on Main Street makes it easy for locals and travelers alike to stop by. The casual dining setup works perfectly for Portage—there’s no need to dress up, but you’ll still get attentive service. Regulars often talk about the staff by name in their reviews, pointing out that the personal touch adds to the charm. This trust is something diners build over time, and it shows in the way customers return again and again.
If you’re the kind of person who values both quality and community, this pizza spot delivers on both fronts. Whether you’re grabbing takeout after work, sitting down for a relaxed dinner, or stopping by during a weekend road trip, the experience stays true to what comfort food should be—simple, hearty, and memorable.

Always a good experience eating here. Service is good, atmosphere is good. Food is reasonably priced.
I don’t even know where to start! Sweet people, great service! I got a decently sized order tonight. First off, not a single mistake was made and that there alone deserves a medal. For myself, I ordered a half sized taco salad which is MORE THAN ENOUGH and brimming with super fresh extremely delicious ingredients. My daughter got the boneless wings and an order of fries but you know mama needs a “taste test” ;) and even though it was only a garlic and butter spread for the chicken, it was SUPREME. Their fries never miss the spot. A large pepperoni pizza and it’s made just right, not too oily, not under or over cooked. Last but not least I ordered their grilled chicken salad which, again, brimming with fresher than fresh ingredients and the chicken is grilled and seasoned perfectly. I cannot recommend this place enough. The young man who delivered my order was as sweet as can be!
Stopped in so my mom could get a half hoagie for her dinner. She say's they are very very good, I can't say myself because I didn't get anything. However I can comment on service the young lady behind the counter was extremely pleasant and when she brought my mom's hoagie out she was so sweet, it's hard to find such great customer service nowadays with the younger generation. So, thank you! Now on to the atmosphere, I myself probably wouldn't eat inside the establishment only because it looks a bit run down, it could use some TLC and the seats/tables needed to be wiped up.
Their stromboli's are amazing! One large is enough for 3 to 4 people! We were the only customers that were there for eat in but the entire time, the staff was extremely busy taking phone orders. Superior staff, friendly, and wonderful to deal with. The lights at the counter were flickering really bad and it made it hard to stand there and order. Other than that, no complaints!
